About me

Hi, I’m Magnus. I work with information security, but this page is mostly for my personal projects and hobbies. I like to figure out how things work, whether it is a computer system or an old film camera.

When I am not working I am usually outside. I have started to really enjoy analog photography. There is something good about the slow process of metering light and working with film. It is a nice contrast to a digital workday where I am always reachable.

I spend a lot of time in the mountains and woods, often with a camera in my pack. I like to combine being outside with hunting and fishing. Being somewhere without coverage for a few days is a great way to reset.

Work

My work is about solving information security challenges by looking at the connection between technical details and the organization as a whole. I operate at multiple levels, from deep technical testing to risk assessments of complex systems.

With a background in security testing and identifying vulnerabilities in web applications, cloud platforms, and internal networks I have a realistic understanding of how systems are compromised. I use this hands-on experience to help the entire organization understand and manage risk.

I enjoy seeing the big picture. Whether I am working with threat modeling, third-party security, or compliance, my focus is always on finding practical solutions. I try to bridge the gap between technology and business needs, making sure that security measures work for the organization as a whole.

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Information Security: NTNU (2021)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT Operations and Information Security: NTNU (2019)

Why this website?

I’ve wanted a place to share my work and hobbies for a while. I’ve always appreciated finding those independent blogs that are free from ads and tracking. Just good, useful content. I hope to build something like that here over time.

My idea for this site was to create a simple, functional notebook where I can document my experiences and the projects I’m working on. I wanted a clean, minimal space that works well on any device, without the bloat of a CMS.

Building this from scratch was a different challenge than my usual work, but it has been a rewarding process, but I haved enjoyed the process. Another benefit is having full control of the content and licenses.

I hope you find something interesting here. If you have any feedback, comments, or just want to get in touch, feel free to reach out.
